Canyon shelter will stop adopting and rescuing cats on Oct. 1
Due to significant budget cuts, as of Oct. 1, the Canyon County shelter will no longer have cats available for adoption, nor will any drop-off stray cats be accepted, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Nampa child found in New Mexico
Officials have found a 2-year-old girl taken from her home in Nampa on Tuesday. Catelyn Rose Sandoval was recovered without incident in Farmington, New Mexico, according to a release from the Nampa Police Department.

Man busted in Caldwell, accused of trying to steal pain pills
Caldwell police arrested a 28-year-old Salt Lake City man on a charge of attempted armed robbery after he reportedly tried to obtain bottles of prescription medication from the Pennywise Drug Store at Cleveland and Kimball streets.

Nampa school board approves emergency levy

Nampa man calls 911 to report 'someone was out to get him', is charged with trafficking meth
Thomas M. Massey and Stephan James Pfeiffer-Weller are being held in the Ada County Jail on a trafficking of methamphetamine charge after Boise police say they found 30 grams of meth after Massey called them Saturday morning for help because “someone was out to get him.”

Construction to close Interstate 84 from Meridian to Nampa for two nights
All lanes of Interstate 84 will be closed between the Meridian and Garrity interchanges from about 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, for work on the future Ten Mile interchange.
